Just as we’re set to finally slow down, get back to normal, and put an end to the longest campaign season in history, we’re already starting the long trudge toward the holiday season. With moldy pumpkins still decorating porches and stoops, merchants are already festooning their businesses with Christmas paraphenalia. My local Peets already has their Holiday Blend coffees for sale, their signage has changed to the bold reds of the season, and two large wreathes grace the doors of the establishment. All well and good, but, please, I beg of you, I’d like to go a few more weeks before I hear any version of Silent Night.
